Break Free from Plastic Pollution

View this email in your browser ([link removed])
Hi
John,
Exposure to toxic pollution from the fossil fuel industry goes beyond drilling and extraction. Plastic products, which are made from fossil fuels, expose us to pollution and hazardous synthetic chemicals that increase breast cancer risk. Instead of making decisions that are in the best interest of public health, the plastics industry is exploiting the COVID-19 pandemic to expose us to even more harmful chemicals!

Tell your Representatives they must strengthen industry regulations in order to address the health impacts of its pollution! ([link removed])

Fossil fuel polluters have left a legacy of health harms, including breast cancer. However, throughout the era of COVID-19 the industry has been granted numerous bailouts, has been granted several regulatory rollbacks, and has continued to invest in plastic infrastructure. Plastics sourced from fossil fuels pollute at every step from production to use and disposal, and they continue to threaten our health.

The Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act (H.R. 5845), will hold industry accountable and is a step forward in strengthening regulations that protect us from industry exposures linked to breast cancer.

Take action and ask your Representatives to support the H.R. 5845 Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act and put public health before profits! (http://)

In Solidarity,
Zoe Christopher
Resource Liaison & Office Manager
