In 2019, Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger were roommates in Washington, D.C. as freshmen congresswomen. Now, they're both running as their states' official Democratic nominees for governor in New Jersey and Virginia.

Abigail and Mikie represent the next generation of Democratic leadership, and they're running in the biggest elections since the presidential election last fall.

Last November, Donald Trump was only six points away from winning New Jersey and just five points away from winning Virginia, so these two races will be incredibly competitive next month.
