John,
Testifying before Congress, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr said he agreed “absolutely” with Senator Bill Cassidy that Donald Trump “deserves a Nobel Prize” for overseeing Project Warp Speed and the development of the first mRNA COVID vaccines.
It was “genius,” Kennedy said, because it "was perfectly matched to the virus at that time, when it was badly needed because there was low natural immunity and people were getting very badly injured by COVID."
So why has Kennedy also said this was the “deadliest vaccine ever made”? And why is he now yanking nearly $500 million in funding for mRNA vaccine research, and halting 22 vital projects at Moderna, Pfizer, Sanofi, and leading universities?
This is the same Robert F. Kennedy Jr. who told Congress during his confirmation hearings that he was “not anti-vaccine” and that he would "do nothing as HHS secretary that makes it difficult or discourages people from taking" them.
These hypocritical statements and actions by the top public health official in the United States are highly dangerous to the health of millions of Americans. Limiting access to vaccines now, and ending half a billion dollars of research for the future, will have deadly consequences.
It’s time to end RFK Jr.’s dangerous doublespeak on vaccines and restore funding for this essential public health responsibility.
Send a direct message to Congress to demand they overturn RFK Jr's cancellation of nearly $500 million in federal funding for mRNA vaccine development now!
Vaccines are our first line of defense against new and emerging viruses -- from evolving COVID variants, to avian flu, and future pandemics we can’t yet predict. For generations, vaccines have been one of the great triumphs of humanity -- eradicating polio, ending measles and smallpox outbreaks, and protecting millions of children and families from deadly disease.
But now that legacy is under severe threat.
By shutting down these research programs, Kennedy has put ideology ahead of evidence. The cuts don’t just close labs -- they dismantle the infrastructure our nation depends on to respond quickly and effectively to new diseases. The longer these projects remain unfunded, the more vulnerable America becomes to the next pandemic.
Medical professionals and lawmakers from both parties -- including physicians like Senator Cassidy -- have condemned this move, warning that it’s driven by misinformation, not science. mRNA vaccines remain one of our most potent tools for pandemic preparedness. Undermining that progress weakens not only our defenses but our global leadership in medical innovation.
Congress must act swiftly to reinstate full funding for mRNA vaccine research and protect the progress that keeps Americans safe, healthy, and ready for whatever comes next.
Tell Congress to reverse RFK Jr.’s cancellation of mRNA vaccine funding and restore the $500 million in research that safeguards our health and security.
Thank you for insisting that facts -- not fear -- guide our nation’s health policy.
