Trump’s Supreme Court just greenlit mass deportations using the shadow docket. Demand Justice is fighting back.
John,
The Supreme Court cleared the way for Donald Trump to revoke deportation protections for over 300,000 Venezuelan immigrants — people who’ve lived, worked, and built families in the U.S. for years.
Now, because of this decision, families are being ripped apart. Parents are losing jobs. People are being jailed and at risk of being deported to a country still in crisis. It’s devastating — and it’s happening because the Court let it happen.
Once again, the conservative majority used the shadow docket — their favorite back-door tool — to greenlight Trump’s cruelest policies without explanation.
Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson called it a “grave misuse” of power, warning that her colleagues are using this process “to allow this administration to disrupt as many lives as possible, as quickly as possible.”
She’s right. This is what happens when extremists capture the courts: they use their power to inflict harm, fast.
At Demand Justice, we’re fighting back — organizing, exposing the Court’s abuses, and building the movement for real reform. Because a Court that lets Trump deport hundreds of thousands of people on a whim isn’t neutral. It’s broken. We can’t let this stand.
