Today is National Farmer’s Day, and to say that farming is important to
our state would be the understatement of the century.
Agriculture is the lifeblood of Iowa. We rank #1 in the country for
producing things that millions of Americans rely on every day, like eggs,
corn, pigs, ethanol, and biodiesel.
We need to do right by our farmers — not only because they’re our
neighbors, but because it’s absolutely critical to Iowa’s future.
But partisan insiders and their policies have consistently failed our
farmers, and as of this summer, Iowa farmers filing for bankruptcy have
risen by a devastating 55% compared to last year.
