Humans are living beyond the carrying capacity of our planet, putting human systems and natural systems on a collision course: COVID-19 is a manifestation of this fact.
The Global Environmental Facility (GEF) has been at the forefront of efforts to address global environmental challenges by delivering transformational change. For the past eight years it has been led by Naoko Ishii, who is stepping down as GEF CEO and Chairperson. She will be succeeded by incoming CEO Carlos Manuel Rodriguez, Minister of Energy and Environment, Costa Rica.
This webinar, hosted by the World Resources Institute (WRI), will include Naoko Ishii’s reflection on the GEF’s evolution under her leadership, reflections from key GEF partners, audience Q&A, and a conversation between Naoko Ishii and her successor. The event will be chaired by Rosina Bierbaum, Chair of the GEF's Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel.
Speakers include:
Agnes Kalibata, President, Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa
Andrew Steer, President and CEO, World Resources Institute
