Good morning! A crisp, rainy autumn day is dawning here in North Carolina.
I'll have to be brief this morning for a wonderful reason.
First, it's Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, something we always give a nod to because both of my girls were born in Canada, and we have many beloved family members there.
Secondly, this year, we're going all out because my mom and stepfather are here visiting. Due to scheduling conflicts, we haven't been able to get together for Thanksgiving for several years, so even though it's a month early for them, today is our own family Thanksgiving.
We're having a traditional meal, so I have to go make some cranberry-sage cornbread for the stuffing, get a pumpkin pie ready to bake, and prep this big meal. We'll also be having turkey (obviously), gravy (what is Thanksgiving without gravy?), candied sweet potatoes (my mom's specialty that she's teaching my daughter to make), and garlic green beans (gotta have a healthy veggie!). It should be delicious, and best of all, it will be shared with people we love.
I just love days like this, being in the kitchen with my girl and preparing a feast with love in our hearts.
I'm starting early so I can pace myself. This pneumonia recovery is no joke and I still get tired far easier than before. I have my one-month follow-up appointment coming this week, with a new CT scan and other tests. I feel like things are on track and look forward to speaking to my pulmonologist to confirm.
Sorry to keep this short but I know you understand!
Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian readers!
Stay safe.
Be happy.
Love,
Daisy
