Earlier this year, OCYD rolled out our Young People’s Platform, which highlights different policy areas that OCYD wants current elected officials and candidates to focus on. In an effort to improve transparency around our Endorsement process, this meeting will provide an opportunity for members and supporters to speak directly into our endorsement process.
For the first half of the meeting, you’ll join a breakout room (or 2) that are based around specific policy prong of the Young People’s Platform (ie, Housing, Climate Change, etc). OCYD Board Members will guide discussion, listen to feedback, and incorporate the attendees thoughts into our endorsement questions for candidates. Candidates are welcome to join and participate in the discussion.
In the second half of the meeting, OCYD Political Director Manny Chavez will go over our brand new endorsement process, which include interviews and ranking, and different timelines for receiving an OCYD endorsement.
