Ralph Calls for End to Trucker Double Tax
On Monday, Congressman Ralph Norman, candidate for South Carolina Governor, joined legislators and concerned business owners to highlight the need for legislation to prohibit truckers from being fined for using the very roads they pay taxes to maintain:
“Truckers are the backbone of our economy, and it’s ridiculous that we are essentially double taxing them for using necessary infrastructure to do their jobs. They have paid their licensing fees, paid their taxes, and now, they are being punished for the SC government not maintaining our roads and bridges which is a core function of government,” Norman said. “We need legislation this session to offer relief to these truck drivers and business owners. The legislature must ban the double tax.”
