Friend, Republicans shut down the government last week. They chose to chase headlines and partisanship, and working families are paying the price.
My Democratic colleagues and I were ready to negotiate on a deal that would protect access to health care, invest in our communities, and lower costs — but Republicans walked out.
Now, the livelihoods of thousands of federal workers are in limbo. The healthcare of 15 million people is in jeopardy. Hospitals across Ohio, especially those in rural areas, are at risk of cutting services or closing entirely.
All because Republicans care more about showing partisan loyalty than delivering for Americans.
