I believe that as a public servant, every Iowan ought to have the chance to look me in the eye, tell me what’s on their mind, and ask me whatever they want.

That’s what our 100 Town Hall Tour is all about: being accountable, listening first, and making sure no Iowan is left out of the conversation.

That’s true whether I’m visiting a big city like Des Moines or the small town of Ellston (a town with a population of 23, but we had 45 people show up to the town hall we held there).

This campaign isn’t about me. It’s about changing a political culture that has pitted Iowans against each other and set ordinary folks back so insiders can exploit us all.

I can’t promise that we’ll agree on everything, but I can promise you that I will always listen, and I’ll always put Iowa first.

What we’re doing on the ground is working, and small towns are turning out in a big way to help sway this fiercely competitive race — but this race will be won or lost (hopefully won) on the margins, so every single vote counts.
