John, I have some BIG news for Democrats and BAD news for Republicans.
My friend Josh Turek, a two-time Paralympian gold medalist in Wheelchair Basketball and a groundbreaking state legislator, is running for the U.S. Senate in Iowa. |
Josh is an inspiring new voice in the Democratic Party — a consistent and forceful progressive who knows how to win on challenging political terrain.
Will you help him get off to a great start by splitting a contribution between our campaigns today?
I've known Josh for three years. I’m proud to call him a friend. He is a fighter. Born with spina bifida, he endured 21 surgeries by the age of 12. Josh fought through medical and economic challenges. He understands the need for affordable health care firsthand. He grew up in a working family that fought to make ends meet. He went on to win two gold medals with the United States Paralympic Wheelchair Basketball team. Now, he represents his community in the Iowa House of Representatives.

Josh is the first permanently and visibly disabled legislator in Iowa history. Carrying on the legacy of U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin, he gives voice to people with disabilities, 15 percent of the nation's population, and the single-largest underrepresented demographic in the United States. I rely on his advice to ensure that legislation and policies are fully inclusive. We need more Josh Tureks in the rooms where democracy happens.
In the Iowa House, Josh Turek has been a voice for working people and an advocate for the economic revival that's at the center of my work. He's an important ally. |
The road to Democratic control of the U.S. Senate runs through Iowa. Josh Turek is a proven campaigner who has delivered in red and competitive political regions with a connectivity and deep understanding that make him a full ballot-boosting Democrat — a defining candidate in a defining election. |
Thank you for your activism and your support. In solidarity,
