Yes, you read that right. The Republican nominee for lieutenant governor said on November 1st, 2024:

“Everybody who acts horrified by how terrible slavery was — and I concur. Slavery is pretty bad. But is it? What do you think of killing a baby on the day it’s supposed to be born by ripping it apart in the womb? Is that not disturbing to you or it just doesn’t matter or, oh, it’s the mother’s choice.”

Not only are abortions up until the day of birth not a real thing, but he is also comparing slavery to reproductive care. This man wants to be our lieutenant governor?!!

His campaign website states: “John believes in the sanctity of life from conception to natural death, and is also one of the leading voices against the growing human euthanasia movement.”

The GOP – and Reid – are trying to use fear to manipulate their supporters. Not only are abortions deeply personal and lawmakers have NO place in the doctors' offices, but the fear-mongering is based on outright lies.

It's crucial that we elect pro-choice lawmakers who respect our rights and understand the complexities of reproductive health. With one month until Election Day, we must act now to ensure our voices are heard and our rights are protected.
