Hi Friend,
After two years of genocide, a ceasefire agreement has been reached in Gaza. AFSC welcomes this critical first step while recognizing we must keep pushing for justice and accountability. For two years, we have called for an end to Israeli attacks, the release of all people held captive, and full humanitarian access to Gaza. We are grateful to everyone around the world who has organized, protested, and demanded an end to the genocide—despite repression. And we stand with our staff and all Palestinians in Gaza who have survived the unimaginable.
Yet even as we embrace this agreement, we know that a ceasefire is just the beginning on the path toward justice. Read more from AFSC’s Nusaiba Mubarak. |

Children in Gaza reclaim the right to learn By Serena
All children have the right to learn and grow in safety. But over the past two years, children in Gaza have been deprived of that right. Since July, AFSC and partners have provided learning spaces where children can feel safe, learn, and experience moments of normalcy. So far, we have reached over 900 children. We plan to reach hundreds more in the months ahead. Read more from AFSC staff member Serena.

New book launch “Displaced in Gaza” (Oct. 16, 10:30 a.m. ET/7:30 a.m. PT)
Join us for a virtual book launch of “Displaced in Gaza,” a powerful collection of testimonies from Palestinians who have faced genocide and displacement. The book includes firsthand accounts from students, mothers, fathers, grandparents, children, and educators. Beyond the suffering, these stories illustrate the humanity, resistance, hope, and the unbreakable bond between Palestinians and their homeland. “Displaced in Gaza” is a collaboration between AFSC and the Hashim Sani Center for Palestine Studies. Register now.
No Kings mobilization (Oct. 18)
Next Saturday, millions of people will once again mobilize for No Kings protests across the country. AFSC endorses this nonviolent day of action to stand up for democracy and reject authoritarianism. We hope you can join us. Find an event near you. As we exercise our free speech, it’s important we know how to keep ourselves and those around us safe. To learn more, check out our guide to protesting.
