Third Annual Backyard Day -- a holiday that we invented ourselves to celebrate the outdoor spaces we call home. Your "backyard" can be steps outside your door, or it can be a favorite park, pond, or picnic grove that’s special to you. On Backyard Day, Team Sierra members from all over the country will be getting outside to take part in our ‘virtual race’ -- run a 5K, walk your favorite loop, or swim across the bay -- get out and get active in your special spot.

Your $35 registration donation gets you an exclusive Backyard Day keychain and a virtual race bib that you can either print and wear on September 14 or use on your social media to share what you’re doing!

We’ll also set up a fundraising page for you so that you can ask friends and family to donate on your behalf! The money goes towards Sierra Club initiatives that help protect our public lands, vulnerable species, and help keep our planet healthy.


The outdoors gives us so much, why not spend a day appreciating and giving back?!
