** Week of prayer: Autumn 2025
======
** Sunday 19 – Saturday 25 October
======
** Sunday
======
** THOSE IN AUTHORITY
======
The authorities that exist are God’s servants put in place for our good. We should pray for them.
“for there is no authority except that which God has established” ROMANS 13:1
** Please pray:
======
* That our legal case against the Civil Service would see it abandon radical gender ideology;
* Giving thanks that the latest attempts to axe Christian prayers in Parliament have been rejected;
* That God will bless our national and local leaders with wisdom and integrity to restrain evil and promote what is good;
* For more Christians to have influence on public policy for the glory of God.
** Monday
======
** EDUCATION
======
Schools need to respect parents’ views and be balanced when teaching controversial issues.
“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them’” MATTHEW 19:14A
** Please pray:
======
* Giving thanks for the positive changes to guidance for schools in England on sex education and safeguarding;
* That the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill will not result in intrusive, bureaucratic rules for home-educating families in England and Wales;
* For continued freedom for pupils and teachers to be able to express Christian beliefs;
* That God will bless all those seeking to have a Christian influence in schools.
** Tuesday
======
** GOSPEL FREEDOM
======
Gospel freedom and free speech are frequently undermined.
“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect” 1 PETER 3:15
** Please pray:
======
* Giving thanks that the Gospel can be freely proclaimed in the UK;
* For our lawyers as they prepare for Pastor Clive Johnston’s upcoming court hearing;
* That academics and students will feel able to speak freely in universities;
* That our upcoming Street Preachers’ Charter will help the Gospel to spread.
** Wednesday
======
** GAMBLING
======
Mainstream Christian belief has always viewed gambling as incompatible with the Bible’s teaching.
“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.” 1 TIMOTHY 6:10
** Please pray:
======
* For politicians to recognise the harm gambling poses to the most vulnerable;
* That we would see an end to gambling advertisements;
* For families negatively impacted by a loved one’s gambling;
* For the Institute as we seek to better inform politicians and the public of the dangers of gambling.
** Thursday
======
** THE CHURCH
======
The Church is always under pressure to conform to the pattern of the world.
“we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, and especially of those who believe” 1 TIMOTHY 4:10
** Please pray:
======
* That church leaders would faithfully and boldly preach the Gospel;
* For true repentance and revival in the UK, that we would see souls saved and lives changed;
* For Christians to confidently share the whole counsel of God in the public square;
* That God would raise up more faithful ministers of the Gospel and give strength and encouragement to leaders who are weary and struggling.
** Friday
======
** SANCTITY OF LIFE
======
We are all uniquely valuable, because we are all made by God in his image.
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” PSALM 139:14
** Please pray:
======
* That the assisted suicide Bills at Westminster and Holyrood will be rejected;
* For significant improvements in palliative care and that it would be accessible to all who need it;
* Giving thanks for medical advances that increasingly allow even very premature babies to survive and thrive;
* For an end to destructive embryo research;
* For a change of heart in those working to undermine the sanctity of life.
** Saturday
======
** THE CI TEAM
======
We treasure your prayers for us.
“pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honoured” 2 THESSALONIANS 3:1
** Please pray:
======
* For more opportunities to reach politicians and the media with our concerns;
* For safety as we travel around the country meeting supporters;
* That we will have wisdom and endurance as we seek to address the many issues we face;
* That the Lord would be pleased to bless the staff and Trustees of the Institute.
