On this World Mental Health Day, we’re thrilled to announce that Megan Thee Stallion, Grammy-winning superstar, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and activist, has been named The Trevor Project’s 2025 Mental Health Champion of the Year!

Megan Thee Stallion accepted this award with gratitude and wanted to share a heartfelt message to LGBTQ+ youth and our Trevor community of supportive allies.

“I’m honored to receive this year’s Mental Health Champion award from The Trevor Project. My goal has always been to use my platform to help break stigmas around mental health and provide resources for those seeking safe spaces to have honest and heartfelt conversations. Mental health impacts all of us, so it’s important to lead with love and empathy. I’m grateful for organizations like The Trevor Project that are committed to spreading awareness and supporting our LGBTQ+ youth in powerful ways.”

This annual award celebrates cultural icons who use their voice to advocate for mental health awareness and uplift LGBTQ+ young people. Megan Thee Stallion embodies this spirit — consistently using her global platform to destigmatize mental health conversations and advocate for inclusive, accessible care.

Her vulnerability, strength, and dedication to supporting marginalized communities make her a powerful force for change — especially for Black LGBTQ+ youth, who continue to face some of the highest rates of discrimination and suicide risk.

Beyond her achievements in music, Megan Thee Stallion is the founder of the Pete & Thomas Foundation ([link removed]) , a non-profit organization focused on empowering women, children, senior citizens, and underserved communities in her hometown of Houston and worldwide.

As part of her foundation’s philanthropic work, Megan launched BadBitchesHaveBadDaysToo.com, a free wellness hub created to spread mental health awareness as well as provide mental health resources, directories, and community helplines for LGBTQ+ and BIPOC folks seeking support.

“As a queer Black person, I wish I had someone like Megan to look up to when I was growing up. Her courage, her authenticity, and her unwavering commitment to mental health advocacy will echo for generations,” said Jaymes Black, CEO of The Trevor Project. “The Trevor Project is proud to honor her incredible impact, especially at a time when LGBTQ+ young people are being stripped of life-saving resources. Megan Thee Stallion’s voice is not just powerful. It’s essential.”
