Defanging MAGA Lies with Chicken Guys

There’s a reason that comedians are often the first targets of authoritarian leaders. Humor and mockery has the power to disarm, defuse, and disempower in a way that makes it difficult for regimes to maintain the tenuous aura of invincibility and inevitability they rely on to keep everyone in line. The resistance has put that to good use this week in several acts of protest that illustrate how being a silly little goofball can cause dramatic vibe-shifts that completely derail MAGA narratives. Time to log on!

Donald Trump, Steven Miller, and the MAGA industrial-propaganda complex have been relentlessly trying to push a completely delusional and hysterical narrative about the danger of violent “antifa” leftist protestors. This week, the White House held a moron convention and invited a slew of neo-Nazi and far-right podcasters to tell lurid and entirely fictional tales about the dangers of anti-fascism, at which DHS Secretary Kristi Noem declared, “this network of Antifa is just as sophisticated as MS-13, as TDA, as ISIS, as Hezbollah, as Hamas, as all of them. They are just as dangerous. They have an agenda to destroy us just like the other terrorists.”

This is a deranged thing to say and completely divorced from reality, because antifa is an ideal and not an organization, but that’s besides the point. The point is to craft a narrative justifying the use of violence against protestors by painting them as dangerous insurrectionists.

Well, Trump’s ICE goons came face to face with the enemy in Portland, Oregon…who twerked at them in large inflatable costumes. Just like, uh, ISIS does.

The absurdity and pathetic desperation of Noem and the MAGA echo-chamber’s narrative is exposed the instant the instruments of state violence actually came into contact with protestors. The stunning contrast between people goofing off in inflatable costumes, face to face with masked and armed stormtroopers, makes it VERY clear who the bad guys are in this situation.

MAGA propagandists and paid Russian shill Benny Johnson perfectly proved this point in a video that he himself posted of Kristi Noem bravely facing down an “ARMY” of antifa that just turned out to be seven reporters and one guy in a chicken suit.

The whole thing reeks of pathetic, try-hard desperation. It’s loser shit, and everyone can see it. What do you mean, this chicken man is an “army of antifa?” What do you mean, the dancing unicorn people are ISIS? What are you TALKING ABOUT?

The hyperbole, the hysteria, the palpable desperation, is a projection of how weak their position is. They know that what they’re doing is massively unpopular. They know that they’ve crossed the line to the point where if their gambit for ultimate power fails, they will be facing consequences. They know that this whole evil project is held together by a demented old man with declining mental faculties and steadily closing arteries. Violence is their only way to hold the ship together, to keep people scared and submissive, and these acts of goofball defiance instantly pull the hood off the whole thing.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hammered this point in an Instagram livestream in which she publicly mocked Stephen Miller for having Short Guy Rage and trashed him as a “clown.”

“The point is, is that they are scrapping and grasping at straws because they have nothing else. Laugh at them. Stephen Miller is a clown. I’ve never seen that guy in real life, but he looks like he’s like 4’10”. And he looks like he is angry about the fact that he’s 4’10”. And he looks like he is so mad that he is 4’10”, that he’s taking that anger out at any other population possible. Like, laugh at them. Laugh at them…This is about insecure masculinity. And one of the best ways that you can dismantle a movement of insecure men is by making fun of them,” said AOC.

Racing to prove her point was the Fox News primetime lineup, who immediately abandoned very politically important blame-the-Democrats shutdown narratives in order to throw a network-wide tantrum over the sanctity of Stephen Miller’s Ken Doll-esque “manhood.”

Jesse Watters declared that Miller was a “high-value man” and that AOC probably wanted to sleep with him (EW) while Laura Ingraham helpfully forced Miller to listen to his humiliation on live television:

It all goes to show that there is deep insecurity, weakness, and fear behind the MAGA projection of force and authoritarian power; humor, mockery, and ridicule are some of the best weapons we have to fight back.
