I’m proud to share a major victory for crime victims.
The Trump administration has backed down from imposing unlawful conditions on nearly $1.4 billion in Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding, freeing over $23 million for Maryland programs that protect survivors and help them rebuild their lives.
These funds support:
- Victim and witness advocacy services
- Emergency shelter and trauma support
- Medical, funeral, and burial expenses
- Sexual assault forensic exams
- Crime scene cleanup and more
The Trump administration attempted to hold these funds hostage, demanding that states enforce federal immigration priorities. Thanks to our lawsuit, these resources will continue reaching the people who need them most.
I’m running for reelection to protect our communities and fight back when unlawful federal policies threaten our safety and our rights. Will you chip in $25, $50, or whatever you can today to my reelection campaign?
