This weekend marks 9 months since we launched our Save Our Health Care campaign, and what an extraordinary journey it has been. From the moment we kicked off in January to call out the threat Donald Trump posed to our American safety net, the stakes have been high – and we rose to meet them together. 

Through our spring phone banks, through our Medicaid Summer push, and now fighting to extend the ACA tax credits and cancel the cuts to Medicaid into the fall, you have shown that every season is the season to fight for health care.

Donald Trump’s MAGA agenda has taken food and health care away from millions, sabotaged public health and scientific research, denied the climate crisis, shredded our Constitution, and racked up trillions in debt just to give tax breaks to billionaires. As I said recently, Trump is the worst president For The Children that our country has ever had.

We are seeing families that are struggling to make ends meet and afford the basics with Republicans in charge of the Congress and the White House. Republicans created and own the ongoing government shutdown. House Democrats, united by the leadership of Hakeem Jeffries, are steadfast in our values – we will not vote for anything that cancels ACA tax credits that make coverage affordable and does further harm to America’s working families. 

The best antidote to the Republicans’ lawlessness, extremism and poison is to win elections with the power of our votes. In Congress, I’ve used a gavel and I’ve used a pen. But the most powerful tool I have ever used is the same one that you hold in your hands right now: your ballot. Know your power and show your power by voting today!

California voters in state and abroad: the entire nation is counting on YOU to vote YES ON PROP 50 to stop Trump and MAGA Republicans from rigging the 2026 midterm elections before a single vote is cast next year. Trump and Republicans are illegally gerrymandering congressional maps right now in clear violation of the Voting Rights Act. Unfortunately, Republicans are trying to ban mail-in voting — the main method that our servicemen and women in uniform overseas and Democrats living abroad use to vote.

If you have your ballot already, fill it out, turn it in and join us in mobilizing others to do the same. We are not taking anything for granted. So, Democrats, let’s own the ground every day until November 4 and that means dropping your ballot today and making sure that your friends, family and neighbors vote too. To our active duty military and other Americans abroad, turn in your ballot right away!
