Dear Members and Associates,

Our new Racial Justice Working Group held its first meeting yesterday, and from all reports it went well. They will meet again over zoom next week, so if you would like to be involved please respond to this email and I will forward your information to them.

They asked me to let you know about today's school board meeting on YouTube. This is a committee of the whole meeting that does not allow public comment, but they will be focused (at least in part) on whether to renew the contract with the Duluth Police Department. We are supporting local efforts to remove the police from schools. Time and time again, statistics show that school discipline is best handled by teachers and staff, not by police holding guns, pepper spray, and handcuffs.
