John,
I just had the chance to hold a public town hall meeting with a group of Americans in Berlin—people who may live far from home, but who still care deeply about the future of our country.
We talked about what’s happening in the U.S. right now—a president who’s defied the Constitution, ignored federal court orders, dismantled agencies meant to serve people, slashed health care for millions, and even demanded that Texas redraw its maps to steal five House seats and attempt to hang on to the House of Representatives.
Trump is consolidating power because he knows that if he loses control of the House or Senate in 2026, there will be a check on his lawlessness and corruption. He’ll be held accountable—and there will finally be the possibility of free and fair elections again.
But as I told everyone in that room in Germany earlier this week: It’s on each and every one of us to do what we can with what we have where we are.
I’ve held these kinds of all-comers welcome town hall meetings in every part of Texas and all across the country. My favorite conversations are with people—no matter their party—who come together in unlikely places to talk about what matters most to them. Because that’s where democracy really lives: in our willingness to show up, to listen, and to act together.
That’s exactly what we’re doing each day through Powered by People—organizing in every region of Texas, registering new voters, and building the infrastructure that ensures every voice is heard. When we show up, we create the conditions for free and fair elections, a government that delivers for the people, and a democracy that works for all of us.
Here’s the reality: too many people back home don’t feel like they have a future where they can succeed. They’re struggling to afford childcare, health care, housing, education, and even a healthy meal—in the wealthiest, most powerful nation on the planet.
We don’t lack the resources to do what’s right. We’re just up against forces more concerned with holding on to power than serving the people.
That’s what we’re working to change. By organizing, mobilizing, registering voters, and delivering for people, we will prove that democracy can work, that government can make life better, and that our party can be the one that gets things done.
If we do that—if we deliver—we can transform this country.
Will you chip in $3 to Powered by People’s organizing today and help us build the future we deserve?
