Mecklenburg has twice as many prosecutors as Wake County

John,

Did you know that Mecklenburg County — a smaller county than Wake — has twice as many prosecutors? That’s a big problem.

Here in Wake County, our District Attorney’s office is stretched too thin. That means victims have to wait years rather than months for justice and repeat offenders stay on the streets longer in Wake. When prosecutors are overworked and under-resourced, everyone in our community is less safe.

The numbers tell the story: Mecklenburg County has 94 prosecutors. Wake County? Just 43.

And when you factor in that Wake County has grown by more than 35% over the past 15 years (from about 900,000 residents to more than 1.2 million) but our DA’s office hasn’t grown with it, it's clear why we’re falling behind.

We simply can’t keep up with public safety demands without expanding the team that prosecutes violent crime and protects our families.

As a former Congressman and State Senator, I know how to bring results and resources back to Wake County. As your next District Attorney, I’ll fight to double the size of our DA’s office, support law enforcement, and make sure justice is delivered fairly and efficiently.

I’m running for District Attorney because the prosecutors in Wake County are dedicated public servants doing an incredible job under tough conditions. They deserve a DA who will have their back — and the resources to get the job done.

This campaign is about standing up for law enforcement, ensuring justice for victims, and building a safer Wake County for everyone.

If you share that vision, I hope you’ll chip in to help us get the message out and grow this campaign. Together, we can make Wake County safer for everyone.
