Forced Abortion Prevention and Accountability Act
Because of the lack of oversight surrounding abortion pills, there are no proper checks in place on who is ordering these drugs and whether those individuals are providing accurate information.
This allows predators to obtain these drugs and slip them to expecting mothers without their consent.
In Texas, a man was charged with murder after secretly putting abortion pills in his girlfriend’s coffee just weeks after an ultrasound showed she was six weeks pregnant.
Sadly, not every state values the life of the unborn. Last year, a man in Washington was sentenced to not even a year in prison after he forced an abortion drug into a woman and killed her unborn child.
That is why I recently introduced the Forced Abortion Prevention and Accountability Act. My bill establishes strong federal penalties for anyone who knowingly and intentionally gives an abortion-inducing drug to a woman without her consent. If they cause serious injury to the woman, the penalties are tougher. My legislation also holds pharmacies and mail-order sellers accountable for shipping abortion pills without verifying the identities of who is ordering them.
My bill is endorsed by Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, Students for Life, American Principles Project, Concerned Women for America LAC, and National Right to Life Committee.
I will never stop fighting for pro-life policies that both protect women and defend the unborn. |
