We’re now over a week into this government shutdown. I’m continuing to call on Senate Republicans to work with us on an immediate bipartisan solution, but they remain dead-set on a budget that will make health insurance unaffordable for millions of Americans.

The window is quickly closing before these price hikes take effect, and the harmful impacts of this shutdown will only worsen the longer it continues.

Yet, my Republican colleagues are trying to kick the can down the road and refusing to offer any solutions to make health insurance more affordable.

This is a today problem, not a next year problem. The American people can’t afford to wait around while Congress refuses to act.
