Peace, Populism, Pills (Freedom Focus)Peace in the Middle East, economics with Senator Phil Gramm, and fighting for life |
This week we are celebrating the progress made by President Trump in the push for peace in the Middle East. By brokering this historic peace deal, the President has ushered in a new wave of hope for the nation of Israel and the people of Gaza. AAF Founder Mike Pence released the following statement in response to this major step forward:
Senator Phil Gramm Presents "Economics for Dummies" More than 50 Hill staffers joined us at the Capitol Hill Club to engage with Senator Phil Gramm on a variety of political and economic topics, including those in his new book The Triumph of Economic Freedom: Debunking the Seven Great Myths of American Capitalism. Thanks to your generosity, we are able to host events like this in the heart of our nation’s capital. This work has real influence — and it’s all thanks to patriots like you who make it possible.
AAF Founder Mike Pence at GMU: Taiwan Matters This week, Vice President Mike Pence joined Professor Michael Hunzeker at George Mason University to discuss the importance of Taiwan. As China continues to develop into one of our greatest adversaries, it is imperative to maintain a strong and steady relationship with this democratic beacon in Southeast Asia.
VP Pence: Make HHS and FDA Pro-Life Again Last week, the FDA announced its approval of a generic form of the abortion drug Mifepristone. This move was a far cry from the pro-life agenda pushed by the first Trump administration — not to mention a complete turnaround from what was promised to voters on the 2024 campaign trail. AAF Founder Mike Pence explains the dangers of this pill in his newest piece published by the Wall Street Journal, | “Mifepristone is a powerful chemical cocktail specifically designed to end a developing human life. It carries serious risks for women, among them hemorrhaging, infection and even death. Complications from chemical abortions send thousands of women to emergency rooms each year. By promoting its widespread use, the administration advances a culture of death and jeopardizes the health and safety of mothers.” |
AAF previously ran an ad campaign warning Senators not to approve Secretary Kennedy over this issue. We’ve known from the beginning: RFK Jr. is anything but pro-life. American women and children deserve better. Vice President Pence made clear what has to happen: | “Mr. Trump should act swiftly to reverse this decision. Government’s first duty is to protect the lives of its own citizens, born and unborn. If Mr. Kennedy won’t defend the most vulnerable among us, he should step aside so the president can nominate a leader who will.” |

The FDA Must Follow Through For 25 years, politics has repeatedly superseded science in the FDA’s consideration of the abortion pill mifepristone. Despite pledges to review the drug’s safety, the FDA recently and unexpectedly approved a new generic form of the drug. This week, AAF General Counsel Marc Wheat responded in an article published in the Daily Wire, detailing the FDA’s history of politicizing women’s health. Wheat concludes, | “The FDA’s recently announced review is a good first step, but pro-life Americans cannot rest until the dangerous chemical abortion pill is taken off the market and pre-born Americans are safe from its harms.” |
Senate Moves Forward with AAF-Supported Judge Two weeks ago, AAF sent a fact sheet debunking unfair criticism of Rebecca Taibleson’s nomination to the Seventh Circuit. The unfounded critique must end. Taibleson is exactly the kind of judge we need — having clerked for Justices Scalia and Kavanaugh. Yesterday, Bloomberg Law cited AAF’s efforts as Taibleson cleared the Senate Judicial Committee. We will continue to support her nomination as it proceeds through the Senate.

The discussion will be led by AAF Senior Fellow Joel Griffith and Phil Kerpen, who serves as President of American Commitment, an advocacy group dedicated to restoring and protecting America’s core commitment to free markets and individual freedom.
