Let’s set the record straight:

The GOP is in complete disarray — so much so that they can’t even manage to keep the government open.

They’ve abandoned their responsibility to govern, and instead have lined up behind Donald Trump’s latest attacks on our democracy. And now? They’re blaming everyone but themselves for the chaos they created.

Here’s Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson this week:

“It’s not the Republicans that are a threat to our democracy. It’s President Obama, it’s President Biden.”

Give me a break.

Let’s be clear — Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. They caused this shutdown. And now, while families in Wisconsin wonder how they’ll pay rent or put food on the table, Ron Johnson’s on cable news, pointing fingers instead of fixing the mess his party made.

Federal workers aren’t getting paid. Small businesses waiting on government contracts are losing money. Parents are scared they’ll lose childcare assistance. Seniors are worried their benefits will be delayed.

This is exactly why I started The Long Run PAC, to back candidates who actually show up for working families, not special interests. Leaders who will do the work, not play political games while people suffer.
