Friends and neighbors,
For years, Minnesota has had a serious fraud crisis on its hands. The former acting US attorney, Joe Thompson, said fraud has climbed into the billions, and it’s likely the true number is even higher. We’ve seen one case after another: Feeding Our Future, the housing stabilization program that billed Medicaid to care for people who had already passed away, autism centers caught faking claims, addiction clinics using public money for private jets, and much more. It is simply staggering the level of fraud that Gov. Tim Walz and his administration have allowed to happen.
Think about what could have been done with that money. It could have paid for school safety and security improvements, better roads, or relief for families who need it. Instead, the Walz administration kept authorizing the checks that fraudsters used to line their pockets. They were warned about fraud years ago and didn’t stop it.
During the 2025 session, there was actually bipartisan support to create an Office of Inspector General that would have given Minnesota real oversight and accountability. The bill even passed the Senate, but Governor Walz and House Democrats worked to stop it in its tracks.
Over and over again, taxpayers are being ripped off and there’s no sign the administration has the ability or interest in putting a stop to it. We need accountability leadership from the Walz administration if we want to restore trust in government, but we aren’t getting it.
