Trump and Miller are pretending their crackdown is about defending “American values.” But look closer at their “NSPM-7” directive – and the so-called threats they name could apply to millions of ordinary Americans.
They’re targeting people or organizations who speak out against government corruption. Those who believe in fairness and equality for all, no matter race or gender. Those who reject this administration’s treatment of immigrants and refugees. [3]
In other words, they’re using vague, sweeping language to paint everyday Americans as extremists – and to justify silencing anyone they disagree with.
It’s a classic tactic to divide us, turn neighbors against each other, and distract from who’s really ripping us off: Trump and his billionaire allies.
