[1]Talarico for Texas

John —

A lot of campaigns talk about going everywhere and talking to everyone.
Few actually do it.

That’s because going everywhere in a state as big as Texas is an
investment — both in time and money.

But taking back Texas requires that kind of investment — especially in
South Texas.

That’s why, just a few weeks into the campaign, I showed up in McAllen...

And Brownsville — deep in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley.

I also went to bright red Victoria — a community that voted for Trump in
the last election by 40 points.

Campaigning in this part of the state was like a homecoming for me.

My granddad was a Baptist preacher in South Texas. My mom was born in Port
Lavaca and raised in Laredo. And I still have family in the area.

The truth is, DC politicians don’t understand South Texas.

For too long, national Democrats have taken communities like this one for
granted. So people in South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley were open to
an alternative.

In the last election, Republican politicians showed up here and made big
promises.

* They promised to make everything less expensive.
* They promised to put working families first.
* They promised to drain the swamp.

But look what’s happened since the last election:

* Everything is more expensive.
* Working families are falling further behind.
* And corruption in Washington is the worst it’s ever been.

We see it happening in real time. As we speak, DC Republicans like John
Cornyn are trying to gut healthcare for millions of Texans so they can
give another tax break to their donors. And they're willing to shut down
the government to do it.

That means a mom in the Valley — working two jobs, raising three kids —
won’t be able to afford her premiums. All so billionaires can make even
more money.

Republican politicians promised big change but delivered more of the same.

I told the people of South Texas: If you feel like you’ve been conned, if
you feel like you’ve been let down by both political parties — you’ve got
a place in this campaign.

Thank you, South Texas, for showing up for us.

I’ll keep showing up for you.

James

Our campaign is going to go everywhere and talk to everyone. James knows
that taking back Texas from billionaire mega-donors and their puppet
politicians starts with showing up for the people.

But barnstorming the state is expensive. It’s a lot of ground to cover,
and it would be impossible without small donations from people like you.

James on the road. Every dollar is immediately invested to lay the
groundwork required to win this race.
