Hi John,
This month, Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and President Trump announced, with no scientific evidence, an association between Tylenol use during pregnancy and autism spectrum disorder. They likely won’t stop there – calling into question the efficacy of a safe medication during pregnancy like Tylenol might be the first move in the goal to restrict access to all kinds of FDA-approved drugs. Mifepristone, the first pill used in medication abortions, just celebrated its 25th anniversary of FDA approval. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has since announced plans to conduct a new review on the safety and efficacy of mifepristone despite the medication being incredibly safe. Anti-abortion leaders’ intentions are clear: they going to blame any and all pregnancy and childhood outcomes on the pregnant person. Together, we can fight back against these attacks against pregnant people.
