Dear Neighbors, 

I wanted to send a quick reminder that next week I will be hosting a Community Conversation with Senator Ann Johnson Stewart on Thursday, October 16, at 6:00 pm, focused on gun violence prevention measures. We’ve invited advocacy organizations, medical professionals, and community leaders to come and share their perspectives on the epidemic of gun violence in our country, and what steps we can take to keep our communities safe. 

We are also integrating questions submitted by constituents to hear your ideas on what legislation should be considered—whether during a potential special session or next year. The event is open to constituents, so please make sure to include your full home address when you RSVP using this link.  

In case you can’t make it next week, I also wanted to share a survey where you can tell legislators about your personal experience with gun violence. 

Many of the ways in which gun violence impacts our society occur on more personal levels and don’t get a lot of media attention. We are hoping to shine a light on these stories to raise awareness of the full cost of gun violence. Please take the time to fill out our survey if you have been impacted by gun violence.
