The year ahead of us will be one of the most challenging for our country and for our communities. We must engage smartly and strongly to shape the future for transgender people across our country. Our communities are counting on us to fight police brutality, work to end the murders of trans women of color which continue unabated, and lessen the harsh impacts of COVID on our communities. We must fight and engage to create real change for justice.
That’s why it is urgent that our team has the most strategic and persistent people who want to make real, lasting change for trans people.
We seek to add three people to our team, reflecting all of the communities we serve—people who have a commitment to prioritizing justice for transgender people, especially those who are most marginalized.
We have made changes to our hiring process—we have a new diversity statement, an updated EEO policy, and a new online applicant portal to streamline the application process. During the COVID-19 crisis, we anticipate hiring with only phone and video interviews and we understand that newly hired staff will not move to DC until it is safe to do so.
- Apply now to be our Director of Communications if you want to enhance NCTE's media relations, strategy, design, and digital engagement program.

Full details about all the listed positions, including salaries and our generous benefits package, and how to apply are available on our new jobs page.
Note: You don’t need to have experience as a “trans activist” to work at NCTE! Working or volunteering to serve trans or other communities through community or service groups is great experience that we can use here as well.
If you think you might be a good fit, we encourage you to apply now! Are you interested but worried you can’t afford to move to Washington, D.C.? NCTE offers assistance with moving expenses if you are selected to come join our team!
If you know of someone who might be great in one of these roles, please share far and wide!
Thanks, The Team at National Center for Transgender Equality
NCTE is committed to creating a diverse staff made of people who are hardworking, kind, optimistic and committed to social justice from all segments of transgender and allied communities. Transgender people, including non-binary people, people of color, people who were formerly incarcerated, and people with disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply.
