Since Donald Trump authorized the “full force” of the military against his own people, I’ve been crystal clear: there will be no federal takeover of Portland, Oregon.

In fact, I was so clear that during my interview with ABC News, the interviewer thought there had been technical difficulties and my connection had been lost!

Oregonians are clear about making sure that our Constitutional rights to free speech and free assembly are protected — and we won’t be intimidated.

We didn’t ask for the president to send troops into our city and we definitely don’t need it. And a ruling by a federal judge over the weekend blocking the president’s deployment of troops to Portland proved my point.

No matter what, I'll continue to do everything I can to fight back against Trump’s attacks and protect our communities. I’m determined to send a clear message that Oregonians won’t stand for this un-American abuse of power.
