For months, we’ve been working to #DefundPolice -- and last month’s membership survey revealed that #ReinvestingInCommunities is still a major priority. It also revealed that together, we still have so much more to learn and accomplish.
Divesting from police and investing in our communities may sound complicated, but it really isn’t. It isn’t even new. This has been a part of the movement’s demands for many years.
In a time when we are opening our minds and our hearts to the solutions that will transform our communities, we must come together to learn what #DefundPolice really means and why this is an important step in defense of Black lives.

We know that police don’t keep us safe -- and as long as we continue to pump money into our corrupt criminal justice system at the expense of housing, health, and education investments -- we will never truly be safe.
Cities like Los Angeles and Minneapolis are already taking action, and others are following by making plans to cut astronomical police budgets. While we are seeing momentum build for this movement, we need your voice in support of #DefundPolice.
