Interim Update
________________________________________________________________________
Friends,
It’s been a busy few weeks across District 22B as I’ve met with residents, local leaders, and organizations to talk about the issues that matter most to Minnesotans.
I attended the final All Wheel Wednesday Classic Car Roll-In in Belle Plaine and the Henderson Roll-In. Events like these are a great chance to connect with folks, discuss what’s happening at the Capitol, and explain how the legislative process, including a potential special session, really works.
I also met with the League of Minnesota Cities to discuss mental health initiatives for first responders. This is an issue I care deeply about, and I’m continuing my work with the League, MPPOA, PERA, and MSRS to advance Phase Two of the disability law reforms we began last session.
Phase Two focuses on extending medical coverage for disabled public safety professionals beyond the current five-year limit on state medical programs. Phase Three will look to expand access to state medical insurance for all public safety professionals ages 55 to 65.
These reforms are gaining bipartisan support, and I’m committed to seeing them through. I will never turn my back on the profession I love. This work is about protecting and supporting the people who dedicate their lives to keeping our communities safe.
*Standing with Law Enforcement*
Earlier this week, I joined Speaker Demuth, Leader Niska, Public Safety Chair Novotny, Vice Chair Witte, and Representative Schwartz at a fundraiser for the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association (MPPOA). Supporting those who serve is always a top priority for me, and I’m proud to stand with the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe.

*Flannels and Flapjacks: Supporting Survivors*
I also attended Flannels and Flapjacks, a fundraiser supporting survivors of domestic abuse. This is an organization I proudly support both personally and professionally. Events like this highlight the compassion and strength of our communities, and I’m grateful for those who dedicate their time and resources to helping victims rebuild their lives.

*Staying Connected in Our Community*
As always, I will continue to respond to your calls, emails, and messages. Recently, I’ve been working on an issue in Belle Plaine regarding the relocation of a postal service mailbox. With support from members of Congress on both sides of the aisle, we’re making progress and will keep pushing for a solution.
Later this week, I’ll be in Le Sueur for Bonfire Night, supporting local police and fire departments, followed by Taste, Tunes, and Taps, a fundraiser for the local hospital.
It’s an honor to represent our district and stay connected to the people I serve. Thank you to everyone who stops to talk, share concerns, or offer ideas. Together, we’re making a difference for our communities.
Have a great weekend!
- Terry
