John,

When a society celebrates the slaughter of unborn children, it's only a matter of time before the violence spreads to other vulnerable groups.

So it's no surprise that the same self-described humanists who brought us abortion and infanticide have set their sights on the elderly, the sick, and the disabled.

On this week's episode of The 40 Days for Life Podcast, we take a look at the troubling connections between abortion and euthanasia:

We reveal:

  • Arguments in favor of "mercy killing"--and why they don't hold water;

  • The country that has industrialized euthanasia to the point that it has become one of the leading causes of death;

  • Why the notion that euthanasia and suicide provide a dignified way to end human life is pure propaganda.

Syracuse, New York

Syracuse prayer warriors told a woman about the variety of resources available to empower expectant moms in crisis...but she already knew all about them.

"She moved to Syracuse from out of state a couple of years ago and was all alone facing an unplanned pregnancy," explained Jeannie, the longtime 40 Days for Life leader. "Several of the ministries [we] listed helped her out along the way!"

The mother lit up as she described her adorable two-year-old daughter. "She brought tears to our eyes as she told of how God provided for her and blessed her through it all!" Jeannie added.

The woman said she chose life because she was adopted. Two of the families she lived with prior to the adoption took her to church, where she learned that God's word said, "Thou shalt not kill."

Lawndale, California

It's no secret that Planned Parenthood is hurting right now, but a 40 Days for Life volunteer in Southern California uncovered one more indicator that the abortion giant is struggling to tread water.

An ex-Planned Parenthood employee posting on a neighborhood social media channel wrote, "I just got recently laid off. My whole department at Planned Parenthood...got cut..."

May this abortion worker find healing, God's mercy, and a life-affirming new job!

They came bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. Unable to get near Jesus because of the crowd, they opened up the roof above him. After they had broken through, they let down the mat on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Child, your sins are forgiven."

--Mark 2:3-5

Lord, your love is always the same and somehow always new. Your love is creative. Guide my steps, prompt my conversations, and help me to know how to reach expectant mothers contemplating an abortion. Help me to believe that you can and will work miracles through my faith.

For life,
