Dear Friend,

Please join me on Saturday, November 15, 2025 in Vallejo for a special Rosie the Riveter Luncheon.

This festive gathering is meant to foster community, celebrate our region’s history, and create more opportunities for members of our community.

I’ve often said that our history is a guide to our future. That’s why I’ve introduced legislation to establish a National Rosie the Riveter Day , to ensure that the courage and sacrifice of the Rosies are never forgotten. These women, alongside their brothers, husbands, and neighbors, proved that ordinary Americans can achieve extraordinary things when given the chance.

But honoring their legacy also means looking forward. Through my SHIPS Act , I am working to rebuild America’s shipbuilding industry—requiring federal agencies to buy American-built ships, strengthening our maritime capacity, and creating thousands of good-paying, union jobs here at home. Just as the Richmond shipyards trained welders, pipefitters, and machinists during World War II, today we must train a new generation of skilled workers. The Modern Day Rosies—young apprentices, tradespeople, and union members—will be the backbone of this maritime renaissance.

This luncheon is about celebrating that legacy, uniting labor and community, and ensuring the lessons of the past guide the promise of our future.
