One animating principle our team at Defend Our Courts adopted from the start of this battle to save three Democratic justices on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court is this: “Be bold and mighty forces will come to your aid.”
But heading into this critical contest, barely any Democrats knew there was even an election happening in PA this November. Even fewer were aware of what was at risk if we lost.
All the while, MAGA activists had been working around the clock behind the scenes registering new Republican voters and quietly plotting their strategy to trick voters in PA into tossing out all three Democratic judges in one fell swoop.
It would be nothing short of a devastating GOP coup if they pulled it off.
For a time, it looked like Defend Our Courts may have been standing alone against an insurgent and extremely well-funded operation to capture the PA supreme court and pave the way for total MAGA control of America’s most important swing state ahead of the midterm and 2028 presidential elections.
We saw what was happening and blared the alarm for months, rallying thousands of supporters nationwide to the urgency of saving the 5-2 Dem majority on PA’s highest court.
And now, mighty forces have indeed come to our aid: PA Governor Josh Shapiro is entering the fray and helping spread the word about what’s at stake in this fight.
