We just endorsed State Rep. Justin J. Pearson for Congress in Tennessee —
and the first 24 hours have been incredible.

People across Memphis, Tennessee, and the rest of the country are fed up
with the Democratic Party’s failure to stand up for the working class and
fight back against billionaires like Trump and Musk.

The first days of a campaign are mission-critical,
John. If we don’t raise the
early resources Justin needs now, then we won’t be able to take on Rep.
Steve Cohen — a deeply entrenched incumbent with millions of his own
personal wealth who’s coasted in this seat for nearly two decades — and
win in next August’s Democratic primary.

This race isn’t simply about one Democrat versus another: it’s about our
movement to give power back to the working class and stop our nation’s
rapid slide into fascism.

We’re talking about a working-class champion running to represent the
working-class community he was born and raised in, going up against a
status quo career politician who has far less energy and far less focus on
the people of District 9.

It embodies the struggles everyday people are facing across this country
right now, as billionaires like Donald Trump and Elon Musk stage a
corporate coup, robbing everyday people of their right to live in a clean
environment, their jobs and fair wages, their personal data, their earned
benefits like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, and their most
fundamental rights — all to lower taxes for their billionaire friends and
line their own pockets.

Cohen is an out-of-touch, absentee politician who believes he doesn’t have
to engage his community because this seat belongs to him, not the everyday
people whose struggles he’s ignored for decades. Musk and Trump are on the
same side of this fight, using their money to stay in power at the expense
of the communities they’re tasked to represent. To fight back against this
administration’s fascism, we need fighters for the working class in
Washington — not more of the 1% in Congress.

Justin is running to be that fearless voice for the working class. He
knows that this moment demands new, progressive leaders with lived
experience who will fight with the boldness and urgency our crises deserve
— not more do-nothing Democrats who stay silent while Trump and the
billionaires run rampant.

If we’re going to win the biggest fights, we need the biggest coalition
possible in Congress. Justin would join our progressive bloc of proven
champions as another critical voice and vote on the most pressing issues
of our time.

John, what
happens next is so important. We can either help Justin get his campaign
rolling to defeat the out-of-touch career politician in this seat, or we
