John,

Year-round, we work to rescue thousands of animals who have been abandoned, abused or left homeless to fend for themselves. Though rescue is just a first step for many of these animals, it's the beginning of a pathway that will lead them to hope, healing, and ultimately, loving families. My name is Ruth, and I'm the Director of Admissions and Matchmaking for the ASPCA Adoption Center.

Vulnerable animals need us now more than ever to ensure that they can begin their journeys toward loving homes. As we've all been working to adjust to operational changes due to COVID-19, we've seen an incredible increase in people willing to open their hearts and homes to those in need. However, even with that support, our critical, lifesaving work hasn't stopped and neither has the rate of animal homelessness nationwide.

In my role at the ASPCA Adoption Center, I've seen dogs and cats come to us in desperate states. Shut down, hungry, afraid and unwilling to trust.

Without support from friends like you, these animals may never know what it means to have a home, or what the loving touch of a pet parent feels like. After time, I start to see their resilience, their courage and their ability to love and be loved come through. Your compassion and generosity truly make incredible things possible.

I know the power that people like you have because I see it every day. I see it in wagging tails and loving nuzzles; in the faces of families bringing home their new friend.

Please help us now as we work to battle animal homelessness and rescue those who may have been abandoned. Your gift today could end their suffering and open up a world full of possibility—and most importantly, one that is full of love and care.

On behalf of the amazing animals we fight for every day, thank you.

Best regards,
