John, here’s something Republicans don’t want you to know about their shutdown:
If Congress doesn’t act by October 15th, nearly three million military families will go without a paycheck.
I served in the Army. I know that every dollar in those paychecks makes a difference. With skyrocketing costs, losing out on just one paycheck can be disastrous.
It’s unacceptable that our troops would miss out on deserved pay because Washington can’t get its act together.
That’s why I led my Democratic colleagues in calling on Speaker Mike Johnson to bring Congress back into session so we can ensure our service members and military contractors continue to get paid during the shutdown.
But here’s the truth: standing up for our troops, protecting healthcare, and pushing to end this shutdown has made me a top target for Republican attacks. They’re determined to flip this seat and silence our voice in Congress.
That’s why I’m asking: can you chip in $3 or whatever you can today? Your support keeps us in the fight -- for military families, for working families, and for the values we share.
