This year we have endorsed 50 young Democratic candidates through the age of 40 and have pledged support to 115 candidates ages 41 and over, including enthusiastic support for Rep. Congratulations to our NJYD Executive Vice President, Jordan Lewis! We’re so proud to celebrate Jordan’s new role as Deputy Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman! Jordan’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to empowering young Democrats across New Jersey have made a lasting impact on our organization and our movement. Congratulations to our October Young Dem of the Month, Jack Barnes! Jack is a lifelong Middlesex County resident and the current President of the Middlesex County Young Democrats, now serving in his second term. Raised in a family deeply engaged in the Edison and Metuchen communities, Jack has focused his leadership on empowering young Democrats and fostering collaboration across county chapters. Jack holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Providence College and a Master of Public Affairs and Politics from Rutgers University’s Bloustein School. He currently serves as an Associate Policy Analyst for the New Jersey Assembly Democrats, where he helps craft legislation on transportation safety, infrastructure, consumer protections, and data privacy. Previously, he worked as a Communications Specialist for the New Jersey Senate Democrats and as Campaign Coordinator for Sam Joshi’s successful 2021 mayoral campaign in Edison. Outside of politics, Jack mentors youth through the YMCA’s Youth in Government program and serves as a trustee for the Thomas Edison Memorial Tower.
