Esperanza* fled her home country of El Salvador with her children after her husband was nearly killed by gang members. New rules introduced by the Trump administration would make it virtually impossible for families like Esperanza’s to seek asylum in the U.S. Submit a personalized comment today to prevent these new rules from being enacted!

Hi John -

Over the past few months, the Trump administration has worked to severely restrict the rights of children and families seeking safety in the U.S.

We have asked you to speak out against these violations of U.S. and international law. With your help, we have sent tens of thousands of messages to Congress and the president. Thank you!

Now, the administration is taking their efforts to the next level. The new rules would make it virtually impossible for anyone to claim asylum successfully in the U.S.

Under these new rules, children who are being targeted by gangs or suffering from gender-based violence would no longer be granted safety in our country!

Please speak out against these harmful regulations by submitting a personalized comment today!

Due to terrible ongoing violence in Central America and Mexico, families are fleeing to the U.S. to protect their lives – and the lives of their children. When they cross the border, U.S. and international law require that they be allowed to make an asylum claim and granted due process.

These new rules would gut those protections. And it would harm children and families in the process. Esperanza’s husband was shot by gang members. He survived the 9 bullet wounds but the family lives in constant fear that they will try to kill him again and their 3 and 6 year-old daughters.

The new asylum rules would prevent Esperanza and her family from seeking safety here.

We must speak out for Esperanza and her young daughters!

These regulations cannot be adopted without a public comment period. This process gives us a chance to express our strong opposition.

Comments are due July 15. Your comment will make an even bigger impact if you add a sentence or two about why you care about this issue. The extra 30 seconds you spend personalizing will ensure that your comments are read!

Submit a personalized comment today – the right to seek asylum in the U.S. must be protected!

Thank you for being a voice for kids,
