Hi John, it’s Katie from Contest Every Race!
In less than a month, every seat in Virginia’s House of Delegates will be on the ballot, along with thousands of local offices that shape how the state is governed.
When Democrats contest these local races — for school board, county supervisor, or sheriff’s office and more — it builds more than local power. It strengthens the Democratic infrastructure that decides who controls the state legislature and, ultimately, who governs the state.
That’s the work Contest Every Race powers every day: Helping local Democratic teams recruit, train, and support candidates in communities that have gone uncontested for too long.
Will you chip in $25 to help us contest every race and rebuild Democratic power across the country?
We invested heavily in Virginia this year, welcoming 12 local Democratic teams into our grants program — and the results speak for themselves.
In just the past 30 days, they’ve:
- Called nearly 14,000 voters
- Knocked on 10,000 doors
- Completed almost 400 volunteer shifts
These aren’t just numbers — they’re proof that local organizing works. Each call, each conversation, and each shift builds the turnout and networks that decide statewide outcomes.
And the momentum doesn’t stop in Virginia.
Recruitment is already underway for the 2026 elections, when control of nearly every statehouse will be on the ballot nationwide. The same local organizing that’s transforming Virginia will determine who runs, who wins, and who writes the laws across the country next year.
But to keep this going — and to make sure every community has Democrats up and down the ballot — local teams need our help now.
Chip in $25 or more to help Contest Every Race keep building local power nationwide.
When we organize locally, we can change the game everywhere. That’s how we’ll win — one county, one candidate, one race at a time.
