ICE conducted a horrific military-style raid on a Chicago apartment building last week, detaining and questioning every single resident, separating children from their families, and spreading terror through an entire community.1

“I’ve been on military bases for a good portion of my life,” said Darrell Ballard, who lives near the building. “And the activity I saw – it was an invasion.”2 Chicago residents are warning neighbors when ICE gangs storm through the streets. They’re asking when ICE will leave, but there’s no end in sight for Trump’s violent “Operation Midway Blitz.”3

The White House continues to escalate its far-right deportation dragnet across the country. Congress must stand up to Trump’s masked gangs now.

Tenants of the raided building said every single person was taken by ICE, immigrants and U.S. citizens alike. “It was scary, because I had never had a gun in my face,” said one tenant brutalized by ICE agents. Trump’s masked gangs detained four children who are US citizens.4

Apartment by apartment was left in shambles — shattered windows, hallways lined with people’s belongings, lamps and wall hangings thrown down by Trump’s forces.5

Since September 8th, ICE’s invasion into Chicago has led to 800 arrests and spread terror throughout the entire city.6

To identify targets for their raids, ICE is using spyware, surveilling social media, and demanding that Big Tech companies like Meta share private user data.7 It’s clear that the Trump regime will do everything it can to come after immigrants and people opposing its authoritarian agenda.

Congress must finally take action to protect immigrants and all communities from violent ICE terror.
