www.usaforunfpa.org/? [www.usaforunfpa.org/?]TWO YEARS OF CONFLICT IN GAZA: RUSH AN EMERGENCY GIFT TO PROVIDE LIFESAVING CARE TODAY

RUSH MY GIFT [[link removed]?]

“The situation is catastrophic. Our emergency ward now receives more than 1,000 children every day. In the past 24 hours alone, 13 children have died here, including 10 stillbirths and 3 premature babies who died in incubators.”

These are the words of a UNFPA doctor in Gaza. The conflict has now entered its third year, and it's hard to understate the scale of the suffering:

Everyone is hungry, and 500,000 people could starve to death at any moment. 90% of people have been displaced — some upwards of 10 times over the last two years. 67,000 people have been killed, including entire families, and another 170,000 people have been injured, including many who are missing limbs.

Despite the immense harm, your gifts can be a lifeline to women, girls, and families.

In fact, with support from people like you, our teams reached 115,000 people at 69 health facilities , including at the clinic of the doctor above, this summer.

We need your help to continue being there for women, girls, and families affected by this crisis. As we mark this somber anniversary, will you make a gift to deliver much-needed care today? Your support will bring hope and relief to women and girls in Gaza and wherever support is needed most. [[link removed]?]

A woman holds her baby while identifying a family member who was killed. UNFPA PalestineAs this crisis has unfolded, women and girls have been plunged into increasingly desperate situations.

700,000 women and girls have no menstrual products, clean clothes, privacy, or access to showers to manage their periods.

“My period has become a nightmare. No water, no pads, no privacy of any kind. Every time my period comes, I wish I wasn't a girl,” shared one teenage girl in Gaza.

Meanwhile, it is impossible for a woman to carry a healthy pregnancy and mothers like Yasmeen are giving birth on their own in makeshift tents and crowded shelters.

“The labor pains hit me at 4 AM, but there was no one to help. I had no choice but to deliver my own baby. My little children were crying in terror as I was suffering in front of them. I didn’t know what would happen to me in the next few minutes.”

Every woman and girl in Gaza is suffering from loss, hunger, displacement, fear, and skyrocketing violence.

Nour , a teenage girl who lost her leg in an attack, shared with us, “I’m the only survivor [from my family.] I went through very difficult and harsh days, with extreme circumstances. I was injured and not allowed to travel for treatment.”

Our response efforts to be there for women and girls like Yasmeen and Nour are just 34% funded for the year. We don’t want to shut down clinics and cut off services when women and girls need support most, but we need your support to scale up our lifesaving work.

So, will you please be a lifeline for women and girls like Yasmeen and Nour with a gift today? [[link removed]?]

Thank you for being there. Your extraordinary support can save lives in even the most dire circumstances.

We condemn the violence in Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel, and hope for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire, the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas, and an end to the violence. The suffering must end and peace must prevail.
