I hope this message finds you well.
Over the past two weeks, I stepped away from the campaign trail to grieve the passing of my father, Myron Lowery, a man who meant the world to me and to our community in Memphis and Shelby County. From his bold leadership as Mayor Pro-Tem of Memphis and as a Memphis City Councilman, to his tenure as one of the first-ever black TV anchors on WMC-TV Channel 5, Myron and his work touched the lives of thousands, and has shaped the person I am today.
My unwavering commitment to public service, my love for our community, and the leadership I strive to bring to this campaign are all rooted in the values he lived by. He taught me that real leadership means showing up, listening deeply, and doing the hard work to make life better for everyone.
Losing him has been one of the most difficult things I have gone through, but it has also reminded me why I started this journey in the first place: to continue building the Shelby County we deserve. Today, I am returning to this campaign with a full heart and a renewed sense of purpose. This isn’t just a campaign for the people, it is also a way for me to build a county my father wished to live in. And with your support, I am more determined than ever to fight for a supportive, safer, and stronger community.
My family and I have been truly touched by the outpouring of support we’ve received from elected officials, community leaders, friends, and family who knew Myron. I wanted to share some words from his service this past Saturday so those of you who haven’t met him can get a sense of the man he was and the legacy he’s left behind.

In the coming days, we’ll be re-launching events, knocking on doors, and sharing bold ideas for our community’s future through this campaign. I hope you’ll be a part of it.
