I spoke with Jen Psaki about the Republican shutdown and the disastrous effects of their proposed funding bill.

I made it clear that Republicans are using this shutdown to cut healthcare for Americans. If they get their way, the poorest among us will lose access to healthcare and food assistance — in service to tax cuts for the wealthiest people.

That’s what House Republicans are fighting for. It’s cruel, it’s immoral, and it’s lousy for the economy.

People want our government to function and they want the truth. That’s exactly what I’m fighting for in the House.
