Dear john,
As we wait for Speaker Johnson to swear in Adelita Grijalva into the House of Representatives and become the key, final vote to release the Epstein Files, the Speaker has given multiple reasons for why he hasn't sworn her in yet.
This week, he was asked about it and his response was "Look, we’ll schedule it, I guess, as soon as she wants. It has nothing to do with it. I, we’re in pro forma session because there is nothing for the House to do."
Hours later, an aide to Speaker Johnson said, "We will swear in Rep.-Elect [adelita] Grijalva as soon as the House returns to session when Chuck Schumer, Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego decide to open up the government."
Yet barely six months ago, Speaker Johnson swore in two Republican representatives during a pro-form session back. He was asked about this on a segment on NewsNation where he said "There was a unique exception made when the two Florida representatives were sworn in. The only reason we did that is because they flew all their family and friends in for the ceremony."
But right after, the reporter said "So if she flies in her family, would you guys do it?" and Johnson responded, "Again, these are distractions."
Adelita has been urging to be sworn in since she won on September 23rd, and I'll continue to call on her to be sworn in immediately.
